Steel casting process
The steel casting process mainly includes the following steps:
Process design: According to the part drawings and technical requirements, the casting process design is carried out, including determining the process parameters such as the pouring system, riser, and chill.
Model making: According to the process design, the model of the casting is made. Commonly used model materials include wood, metal, plastic, etc.
Modeling: Use modeling materials such as models and molding sand to make a casting corresponding to the shape of the casting.
Melting: Add scrap steel, pig iron, alloy and other raw materials into the steelmaking furnace in a certain proportion for melting to obtain molten steel that meets the composition requirements.
Pouring: Pour the molten steel into the mold.
Cooling and solidification: The molten steel cools and solidifies in the mold to form a casting.
Sand removal and cleaning: After the casting is cooled to a certain temperature, the casting is taken out of the mold and cleaned to remove the pouring head, burrs, etc.
Heat treatment: According to the material and use requirements of the casting, the corresponding heat treatment is carried out to improve the organization and performance of the casting.
Inspection: The casting is inspected in terms of appearance, size, mechanical properties, etc. to ensure that the quality of the casting meets the requirements.
